Nisha's Fried Chicken

Saturday was fun. We went to India's largest mall called Mantri Mall in Malleshwaram. Its huge. More like AD mall not as big as carrefour though. It reminded me  a lot of Abu Dhabi so i was quite at home inspite of the huge crowd.

Abhi came over in the evening and we all had dinner watching "Robin Hood" starring Prithvi Raj. Abhi and I found it irritating since we are anti-prithvi but Unni liked the movie. He feels it is like Dhoom and all.Anyways on Sunday i made an accidental discovery called Nisha's Fried Chicken.

I marinated chicken with turmeric, chilly powder, salt, ginger and garlic and kept it in the fridge for 4hours. Then before frying i coated it with maida.
Then deep fried it in hot hot oil. So simple!!..
Todays health tip: Have Green tea instead of coke , coffee , tea etc. It is rich in anti-oxidants. Cheers

A Small Vishu

Today was Vishu, a rather auspicious equinox and also the Malayalam New Year. Today also happens to be the day India launched into the realm of cryogenic technology. I saw the rocket launch live on tv but it too like all the news these days took a disappointing and rather dramatic turn by deviating from its path.

I saw the Vishu kani, made sadya but Vishu is no fun without fire crackers and all your family with you. I spent my vishu watching Asianet and Kairali. Saw Bramaram. Awesome movie.Really poignant, not meant for the emotional and soft hearted. Mohanlal will definitely get an award for this one.

The gloomy ending for this Vishu came in the form of a dismal performance by all my favorite Chennai super Kings' players.I have decided to boycott IPL if they don't make it to the Semis. What is the point of supporting IPL in the wake of all the Modi controversies.
Hoping for a better Vishu next year with all my family and cousins and lots of fire crackers and kaineetam.

IPL Nights :)

The menu of the night was Amma's Murgh Makhani and Ghee rice.
First a peek into my recipe book.
The chicken who is soon gonna be toast. God Bless!!

The special marinade with yoghurt, chilly powder, pepper, salt, turmeric, ginger- garlic paste, garam masala and a hint of jeera
Chintu and Mintu watching me cook. I wanted kittens or puppies but got them instead in lieu of the Go Green Initiative started by Unni :)
Chicken swimming in marinade all set to go into the fridge to wait till the moment arrives !!
The CSK Fans all set to cheer. Unni doesn't like yellow, so CSK had to adjust with his black tee
and heartfelt support.
We lost the match to Deccan ( Acha's team). Anyways my curry is ready.
Dinner is all set to be served...when suddenly....the door bell rings and in comes the ..
 Lil Abhi..with some refreshments..
In spite of all our protests Unni forces us to watch Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaaya and bores us to death. A boring end to a lovely day. Cheers..
