My Current Fav Song

I saw the making of this music video on TV.Although I never bother listening to foreign language songs this one grabbed my attention.Check it out, it is a very peppy number and makes you want to fly to Seoul and experience all the shopping and partying.
Wish Tourism Board of India would take some pointers from this ;)This song is by 2PM a Korean Boy Band.

Dubai-1st trip

Dubai looks unrecognizable now.So many new tall buildings, shopping malls, and not to mention the metro.

Road to Atlantis
Radha uncle picked us up from the bus stop and took us around dubai. We first visited Atlantis located in the Palm Island. Its a big beautiful hotel. They have dolphins, sharks , penguins etc.

with radha uncle
posing around as usual

We then did a quick tour of Dubai mall and went to Sujatha amai's house for lunch.Dubai Mall was beautiful, I wanted to explore it fully but there was no time.Sujatha amai had prepared a massive feast for lunch.

Relaxing after a heavy lunch
The lunch was too heavy. We could barely move afterwards.I tried out a yoga pose to aid digestion.Dunno if it works, but worth a try.
Yoga for digestion

Suma had come over after work. She is working as an administrator in an International School.

City Centre
We all then headed off to City Centre and had Baskin Robbins before heading back to Abu Dhabi. So that wraps up the short visit to Dubai.I wanted to explore more but was tired by evening.

Its good that AbuDhabi and Dubai is so scorching hot, Mom lets me have all the ice cream I want :)

Home Decor Ideas

Floating candles and lotus
After the recent visits to IKEA and other home decor shops, I too developed an interest in these things. Here are some of the new additions in my house.I got these scented flower candles which can be dropped in a bowl full of water. The floating lotus adds a touch of realism to it.It is a pretty sight and smells good too.

glass candle holder

This glass candle holder looks really pretty when the candle is lit.
Golden Shell
Mom picked this up.I don't know if it has something to do with feng shui but it looks kinda cute.I have no clue as to its purpose though.
Scented pouch
This cute little rose sack smells like a bunch of orchids. It can be placed in the car. rooms, cupboards, anywhere and everywhere you want to induce a soothing fragrance.
Scented Satchet
This too serves the same purpose as the scented rose sack.

I bought the flowers, vase and blue sand and put them together and voila it looks refreshing. So thats all for now from Home Decor Ideas. Adios

Onam @AbuDhabi

India Social Centre was hosting an Onam Sadya and the Chef in charge was none other than Venu uncle.Mom and Dad too were volunteers, so we all went there on the eve of the feast to help with the cooking. Also it is a great venue to catch up with all our relatives and family friends.
Nishchechi gifted me this top.I love it
Acha n Amma all set to cook Onam Sadya
After exploring the new and improved ISC building we went to Suma aunty's house for dinner. She had prepared quite a feast.

Suma aunty with her feast

After dinner Amma and Acha went back to ISC to help with the cooking while Unni and I went home. The next morning, we set off once again to ISC, but this time to partake in the festivities Abu Dhabi style.

Pookalam Winner
We saw different pookalams which were made without any flowers!!.Abudhabi style onam uses coloured powder instead of flowers to make this floral carpet.Ironical isnt it.
The delicious spread
The sadya was delicious.I felt like my tummy would explode.

let the feast begin
I had paladda ,neipayasam, parippupayasam.By the end of it all I was so full and so satisfied.Yummy.So this is how we celebrated Onam in AbuDhabi like in my childhood days.

Carrefour

Mom, Unni and I went to Carrefour. We decided to try out the new low floor ac buses instead of taxi.It was a comfortable journey until one arab lady came and ordered Unni to go and stand at the back.

It was terribly hot and sunny outside.I took my new shopping bag which reminds me of "colors of summer".

We explored IKEA and posed around in the beautifully decorated rooms.Mom bought some scented candles as usual.

I absolutely love going to Carrefour. It is so huge , I could get lost in there for hours.Wish there were malls like this in Bangalore.Unni was happy too after buying a brand new Dell notebook in dazzling blue.

We arranged all the scented candles and flowers and explored the new notebook.A good day filled with good scents.
