Thillana Reunion

When i was 5, I joined Bharatnatyam dance class under Sabitha teacher along with a few kids I was destined to grow up with.It started off as a huge batch and over the years it slowly trickled down to just three - Ashwathi, Sumitha and me.
"Arangetram" or the first performance is a big deal in the dancing realm. By the time I reached 8th or 9th grade, the three of us performed our grand Arangetram with live music and audience. Months and months of rigorous preparations went into this 3 hr performance. We bought kanchipuram sarees and got it stiched. We had the best temple stone jewellery. Our parents spent a lot of time and money in getting us ready for this major event in our lives.
We had strenuous practise sessions which lasted 6hrs so that we would build stamina for the performance. I still remember the day of my Arangetram. My grandma had flown in from Kerala, my uncles and aunts came from Dubai.I received a lot of gifts and best wishes from near and dear. I truly felt special that day.
So when the three of us decided to have a reunion after 11 yrs it was a mega serial of flash backs :). Today the three of us met at my fav restaurant "3 quarter china" in Church street. Here are some pics..so that I can preserve these memories.
